Soffits
Soffits are white high-gloss panels that we place at the top of the corridor. Corridor widths for self-storage spaces are usually 1500 mm wide, so with a single soffit, we install a panel 500 mm wide in the corridor. This leaves an opening of 500 mm on both sides. Custom-made? Check.
With a double soffit, we install a white high-gloss panel 1000 mm wide in the corridor. This leaves an opening of 250 mm on both sides. These soffits can be equipped with lighting, serve as cable trays, act as a base for mounting sensors, pictograms, emergency lighting, cameras… you name it.
The soffits turn the corridor system into one big light fixture – all in glossy white. As a result, the units are sufficiently lit up to 3 to 4 meters deep for use when the door or gate is open. The result? No lighting is needed in (almost) all units, and the only lighting required for the self-storage is continuous LED strip lighting in all corridors, controlled by sensors. Sustainable and smart!
